Pain and Suffering - But We Made It!

20/10/2010

After Mumbai, Jenny fell ill and was quite sick for about a week and half.  She had to make two trips to the hospital and many, MANY trips to the washroom but things are finally looking up, so knock on wood for her!  To add to this suffering, we had to start the process of extending our visas to stay in India as they expire the 30th of November, something we were dreading a lot.  So after a few trips to the FRO and no success, Steph spoke to his company about why we were having so many problems, always a paper missing here, a signature missing there, etc.  We were then told that it was NOT POSSIBLE to extend an employment visa, and most likely we would have to leave at the end of November.  We were devastated!  Our visas were given to us at the end of November in 2009 and we were told that we could extend them a week or so before expiry in India.  Ha!  We had a horrible evening with our minds racing to find a solution - we weren't ready to leave just yet!  Especially since our apartment in France wouldn't be free until the beginning of January!  No place to go!  So, with the help of a wonderful lady from Steph's work, we tried one last time at the FRO.  With a lot of of pleading and begging, Ajitha - the lady from Steph's work - managed to get the approval with a lot of nervousness from us, waiting behind.  But we managed!  To add to our joy, we NEVER have to go back to the FRO, EVER AGAIN!!!  So we can stay!    The trips we have left can be done!  We can finally see the Taj Mahal!  We are very joyful today so thank you to everyone who helped us out!  Stay tuned for more adventures in India!

On etait super triste !
